Two Looks, One London

It's me again guys! Woooo! Showing up on your Bloglovin'/GFC feed like Say WHAT! Lool. This is what I wore to the London Collection: Men's event that I went to. As my lovely blogging partner couldn't make it, we took pictures of my outfit the weekend before. I actually ended up wearing tights on the day cos it was quite chilly, and I also wore these boots instead, cos I just felt like changin'. Typical woman, ain't I? Lol. How dope are these sunglasses??!? They are my new favourite pair. I love the cage detail of the frames, and I feel like mirrored lenses instantly give you extra cool points. And you can never have too many cool points. Lol.

Lots of people at the event said they liked my bag which was cool, it was a good ice breaker lol. I'm building up quite a collection of unusual bags: first a lunchbox bag featuring the cutest dog in the world (see it HERE) now a holographic unicorn clutch. I absolutely ADORE Starlust (that's his name by the way), but I can just about fit my phone and keys in there! Totally worth it though lol.

This shirt dress is one of my forgotten gems. You know those pieces in your wardrobe that you've had for a while and you really love, but you just haven't got round to wearing it? Well, every dog (or shirt dress) has its day, and that day was it! I'll definitely be wearing it more often now, I just love the colours, they make me think of candyfloss. Mmm, candyfloss...

Hey folks! Back again so soon, I hear you gasp? Yep lol. Saffron and I were lucky enough to be invited to Lewis and Leigh's London Collection: Men's event featuring Beau Homme, Clara Martin and Chelsea Bravo. Unfortunately Saffron couldn't make it, so I went all on my lonesome :'( I'm an extremely shy person so that was not ideal, however at the door I was met one of Lewis and Leigh's interns, the one and only Clarissa Henry from VintageDollRisa, one of my absolute favourite bloggers! Check out her blog, she is dope. She was gracious enough to show me around and not slowly back away when I had my fan girl moment lol.





It was held at Icetank, a super dope venue in Covent Garden. The vibe was great; there was good music and refreshments. I had the most amazing chicken burrito, provided by Chipotle! It was so good, I had to find a corner so I could be alone with it. And the moment was so sacred, I couldn’t bear to take any pictures. Lool.  And it was like a street style blogger’s dream in there! Everyone was so immaculately dressed! 

Good Afternoon, folks! Hope you're well! It was me Mams birthday a lil while ago and I decided to make her some cupcakes. It's always good to combine two loves (Mummy and baking). :) She had tried some lavender cupcakes at a craft fair and she was surprised at how much she liked them, so I tried to recreate them for her. And, because apparently cupcakes aren't enough of a challenge, I made mini lavender shortbread hearts to go on top. (Who do I think I am, Delia?) Lol. I have never tried flavouring something with lavender because I don't really like it, but it was nice to try something different. You just get a subtle hint of lavender, which is nice; using too much would make it taste like soap lol. So that's my top tip guys; don't be tempted to add more lavender, it is very strong. Also, make sure you buy culinary lavender so you know it's safe for human consumption.




From Cupcake Heaven by Susannah Blake (2008); London; Ryland, Peters & Small

Ingredients

• 115g caster sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon dried lavender flowers
• 115g unsalted butter, at room temperature
• 2 eggs
• 115g self-raising flour
• 2 tablespoons milk

1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas Mark 4.
2. Put the caster sugar and dried lavender flowers into a food processor and pulse. Tip the lavender sugar into a bowl, add the butter and beat together until pale and fluffy.
3. Beat the eggs into the butter mixture, one at a time, then sift the flour and fold in. Stir in the milk.
4. Spoon the mixture into paper cases. Bake in the preheated oven for about 18 minutes until risen and golden and a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
5. To decorate, in a bowl, gradually beat the icing sugar into the egg white (or milk), and then add a few drops of food colouring and stir to achieve a lavender coloured icing. Spoon the icing over the cakes, then top each one with a fresh spring of lavender (or mini shortbread hearts). Leave to set before serving.
