Many a great outfit made in haste lol. I had a completely different outfit planned for my work Christmas dinner, but I didn't have the right underwear :-/ but in the end, I actually preferred this outfit. I think I heard somewhere that you're not supposed to wear black and navy, but I've gotta tell ya, I'm not one for fashion rules lol. Plus I didn't have anything else lol. I love wearing a corset as a top, especially when they're as pretty as this one! These trousers are so soft and silky, and I think they and the rest of the outfit kind of tone down the fact that I'm essentially wearing a bridal corset as a top. Lol. And I love the spikes on the belt, it adds a bit of an edge to the look.
I have sooo much hair, so when I'm going to formal events I have limited options. I normally do a high bun, but I was getting bored of that, plus it can be so painful (does anyone else feel that??), so when I saw a tutorial on youtube for a "Grecian bun", I knew I had to try it. It was actually quite easy, after a couple of practices, and I'll definitely be doing it again. Please ignore the poorly placed pins. Lol.
I love these earrings, they're lovely for a formal event, but still unique. Plus, they were originally £10, but I got them for £1 at a car boot sale! I LIVE for a bargain! Lol.
All in all, it was a really good night. The food was good, but the company was better. :)
What do you think of underwear as outerwear?
